:::   GODHULI   ::::::   Annual Day Celebrations   :::

20th March 2017

As per practice every year, Servants Of the People Society organized a cultural programme for residents of GODHULI, (Senior Citizen Home, Dwarka)

The function began with Director of Godhuli, Col. Gulbir welcoming all the guests including Chairman of S.O.P.S Delhi branch, Managing committee members of senior citizen home & other distinguished guests. Mrs. Veena Bawa, the chairperson of Godhuli, lauded the efforts put in by her predecessor Mrs. Satyanand and her team, in giving senior citizens of Delhi, a beautiful home, away from home, at very reasonable charges.

The cultural event began with Prof. Angela’s yesteryear’s melodious songs. As usual more she sang, more was the demand.

The novelty item this year was Nukad nataks (Street Plays) performed by Delhi college students. Both plays conveyed strong messages for the society. One dealt with our countrymen’s, especially middle-class obsession with foreign being good or even better than local. The 2nd play dealt with ADOPTION, which communicated the message, how we need to take care of our orphans.

The function concluded with a sumptuous lunch for all guests and residents of Godhuli.
